Players honor U.S. military servicemen with 5-0 win

Flower Mound High School - March 29, 2016

Jaguar Baseball players and fans honored the Unites States military service men and women on Tuesday night at The Mound as part of Military Appreciation Night. The First Pitch ceremony was sponsored by the Armed Forces of the United States of America as Staff Sgt. Roberto Flores threw out the first pearl of the night.

Flower Mound High School's Air Force Junior ROTC presented the colors while 5 active U.S. military personnel from the Lewisville, Texas U.S. military recruiting office stood at attention to honor the colors.

Representing the United States military were:

  • Sergeant First Class Richard Briggs 
  • Staff Sergeant Ulysses Turner 
  • Staff Sergeant Roberto Flores 
  • Staff Sergeant Eric Bass  
  • Sergeant Crystal Hernandez 

The U.S. and Texas flags were presented by Flower Mound High School’s Air Force Junior ROTC – led by group commander Cadet Arsh Kumar and deputy commander, Cadet Sarah Pavlik. Bearing the U.S. flag was Cadet Meredith Dennis; bearing the Texas flag was Cadet Emma Lewis, and escorting the colors were Cadet Andrew Kim and Cadet Mary Masters.

The Jaguars finished the night with a 5-0 win over the Allen Eagles, led by the pitching performance of senior Parker Scott, with a complete game, one hit shut out; and a three hit performance by junior Kyle Landers.
