Flower Mound sweeps McKinney Lions to win bi-district round

May 6, 2017: The Flower Mound High School varsity baseball team advanced to the Area Round of the Texas State High School Playoffs by defeating the McKinney Lions in sweep fashion by winning the Bi-District series two games to zero.

Led by Jaguar starting pitcher Caleb Burgess in game one, who threw six strong innings in a 6-1 victory; and by starting pitcher Austin Wallace in game two who was the winning pitcher in a 7-4 come-from-behind victory, the Jaguars now advance to the Area Round to play San Angelo Central.  

In game one, Caleb Burgess pitched 6 innings, with Eric Jones in relief for one inning. Players getting a multi-hit game included Carson Bradley, Zach Mesa and Austin Wallace.

In game two, Austin Wallace was the winning pitcher, with Eric Jones securing the save. Both Kyle Landers and Syler Shepherd each had two hits.

The Jaguars next face the San Angelo Central High School Bobcats in the Area Round of the Texas State High School baseball playoffs this coming weekend.
