The 2023 season will see Danny Wallace begin his 34th year coaching and 31st as a head coach in Texas High School baseball. In 11 years at Flower Mound High School, the Jaguars have won four district championships, appeared in three Regional Finals and won two State Championships.  In 2014 he led the Jaguars to the Texas State 5A Championship as Flower Mound finished 34-11 with a 10-0 win over San Antonio Reagan.  Last season the Jaguars captured the 6A State Championship with a 6-4 win over Pearland finishing the year with a 37-10 record. In June, Coach Wallace was named Max Preps National Coach of the year.

 In February of 2021, Coach Wallace won his 600th game as a head coach.  In his previous 10 seasons at Georgetown High School, his teams captured three district titles and two appeared in the 5A regional finals in 2007 and 2008. In 1998 he led Hutto High School to the 2A state tournament. 

Danny Wallace graduated from Seagoville High School in 1985. He lettered three years in baseball and was named district MVP in 1985. He then attended the University of Texas and was a walk-on member of the 1986-87 Longhorn baseball team under Cliff Gustafson. 

Coach Wallace graduated from the University of Texas in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science in Education. He married his wife, Stacy, in January of 2023, a current LISD elementary teacher.   They have six children in the family: Jordan, a graduate of UNT,  Austin, a 2019 FMHS graduate, Kayla and Abby, twin FMHS graduates of 2020,  Garrett, a current Senior at FMHS, and Lily a current Junior at FMHS.

Ben Sartor - Assistant Varsity Baseball Coach: Pitchers/Catchers


Coach Ben Sartor

Coach Sartor is entering his 10th year at Flower Mound High School and 9th year as Pitching Coach for the Jaguars.

He graduated from Irving High School where he played 3 sports and earned a baseball scholarship to Tarleton State University.

While playing at Tarleton, he was a two-time All Lone Star Conference Catcher. After graduating with a degree in Kinesiology, Coach Sartor began his career as a baseball assistant at Tarleton. After two years of NCAA baseball, he moved back to Irving High, continuing to coach.

His previous schools and organizations include Arlington High School, Haltom High School, Irving High School (Head Coach), DBAT, TCL Collegiate Summer league Head Coach.  Coach Sartor has also been featured on the Ahead of the Curve Podcast and also on the Pitching Boss Summit from the Texas Pitching Institute.

He has been married to his wife, Kim, for 18 years and they have two children, Jackson, a current sophomore at FMHS, and Riley Kate (13).

Ryan Akins - Assistant Varsity Baseball Coach

Being a Flower Mound High School alum, this is Coach Ryan Akin’s 7th year coaching with Flower Mound High School. While being a 4-year starter at Flower Mound, Coach Akins earned Infield All District honors in 2007 and 2008. In 2008 he was also named All State Honorable Mention while being selected to play in the THSBCA All Star game.  After graduating in 2008, Coach Akins went on and played 4 years of College baseball, at Kansas State University/New Mexico Junior College (Freshman/Sophomore year) and finished his last 2 years at Alcorn State University. Coach Akins helped contribute to Alcorn State winning its first conference championship in school history and receiving an automatic bid into the NCAA Division 1 Baseball Tournament. Coach Akins graduated Cum Laude from Alcorn State in 2013 with a degree in Education. Ryan and his fiance Jenny have a beautiful five-year-old daughter, Mia.

Chris Killian - Head JV Coach


Coach Chris Killian

Chris Killian is in his 4th year at Flower Mound HS and 28th overall as a football and baseball coach. In addition to his duties as the JV Coach, Coach Killian assists with the varsity outfielders.

Prior to FMHS, Coach Killian has enjoyed many years of playoff success and district championships at several schools. His previous stops have been at Denton HS, Keller HS, FW Trimble Tech, FW North Side, Austin McCallum, Cleveland, and Eustace.

Along with his stint as a Head Football Coach at FW North Side for 5 years, Coach K. was also the Head Baseball Coach for 1 year (2009). His other time as Head Baseball Coach came at Cleveland HS in 2000 and 2001. The 2001 team became the 1st team in history to win a bi-district championship and advance to the area round.

Coach Killian has been married to his beautiful wife, Anne, for 28 years and they have three children. Connor (26) is an assistant football coach for North Texas Mean Green. Colby (23) is a computer scientist for Tinker AFB in OKC. Cameron (18), his only daughter, is a senior at Keller HS and will attend Baylor in the fall.

Byron Carter, Jr. - Head Freshmen Coach


Coach Byron Carter

Byron Carter, Jr. started his coaching career with the Prairie View A&M University baseball staff as a graduate assistant from 2005 to 2008 and became the number one assistant/recruiting coordinator from 2008 to 2015.  Coach Carter played at Prairie View A&M University from 2003 to 2004 before joining the staff in 2005. 

As a member of the Panther baseball staff, Carter helped the Prairie View A&M baseball program achieve several noteworthy honors as the Panthers participated in three NCAA Regionals (2006, ’07, '12), ten SWAC Tournaments and six consecutive SWAC Tournament Championships appearance from 2005 to 2008, and 2012 to 2013, and three SWAC Tournament Championships (2006, 2007, 2012).  Carter was also a member of the Mountain View College coaching staff from 2019 to 2021.  

Carter began his collegiate career at Frank Phillips College in Borger, Texas.  During his two-year span at Frank Phillips, Carter finished with an overall batting average of .320 and ranked amongst the top five players on the team in home runs.  He transferred to Prairie View A&M shortly thereafter and helped made history as the Panthers finished with their best record in two decades after the 2004 campaign.  Also, Carter was a part of a unit that completed the season with the third-best batting average in division one nation, as he led the team with an average of .393.  Carter ranked 21st nationally with 22 doubles and led the Panthers in slugging percentage (.607), on- base percentage (.489) and hits (71). 

Named the 2004 Team MVP in addition to earning a spot on the Black College Baseball.com Elite Team, Carter finished second with 52 RBIs and was amongst the top five players in home runs on the team. 

A native of Amarillo, Texas, Carter played for Tascosa High School under coach Kent Meador.  In high school, Carter earned Newcomer of the Year his sophomore year and all-district honors his junior and senior years as a third baseman.    

Carter graduated from Prairie View A&M University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Health & Human Performance in 2005 and holds a Master’s in Physical Education also from Prairie View (2012). 

Carter has one child, Nevaeh Carter (17), who is a Junior at Coppell High School, and has started on the softball team since her freshman year.
